Hap Ki Do
Hap
Ki Do means "the way of coordination and power."
It is a self-defense system that utilizes joint locks, pressure
points, and throws as well as kicks and punches. Hap Ki Do
allows the artist to flow smoothly in and around any opponent,
using their energy or power against them. This starts out
as passive resistance but becomes very aggressive as the opponent’s
energy is used against himself. When performed with the proper
technique, a smaller person can overcome an attacker of any
size, with very little effort.
Each of these styles, Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do, are excellent
in and of themselves. By training in both of these styles,
a student develops a well-rounded combination of techniques
containing the power of Tae Kwon Do and the graceful flowing
control of Hap Ki Do.
